Welcome to Root Down Acres!

Perched on the eastern edge of Bend, this land was once a 160 acre parcel that belonged to Annie and Erik Erickson of Finland who built their home here in 1880 for their family of seven.

Fast forward a few years… While living in mid-town Bend and maxing out our city lot with all of our farming pursuits (you know you’re that neighbor when you get the call “Hi, we think your honeybees are swarming in our tree,” we drove around the area with sleeping kids in the car, plotting our next move! We fell in love with this farm in 2021 and purchased it with the dream of rejuvenating the land and pursuing small scale regenerative farming. It was a good thing the purchase went through, because we had already put a down payment on our flock of sheep.

And here we are! We now sell produce, small-batch honey, pasture-raised chicken eggs and grass-fed lamb. We hope our farm will become a go-to space for the community to source local food, enjoy nature and connect.
